English

This study examines Heidegger's interpretation of the concept of parousia in Hegel. He interprets Hegel's parousia as the presence or Being "with us" and elucidates the structure and totality of his philosophy—logic and phenomenology, or the system of science (Encyclopedia) in general—in this relation. Therefore, he concludes that being in Hegel means being and presence for us as consciousness. The arena or medium of this presence with us is precisely absolute knowledge or science. On the one hand, the historical spirit in the Phenomenology reaches this absolute knowledge = science through the dialectic of the experience of consciousness. Thus, phenomenology is the history of gathering the phenomena of spirit in the form of knowledge for the sake of presence before us. On the other hand, logic is the a priori presence of the pure concept in its absolute absoluteness before absolute subjectivity without any forms of the experience of consciousness (phenomenology). With the concept of parousia (presence before us or Being for us), Hegel gains the possibility to bring metaphysics to its completion by absolutizing this "us" in the form of the concept, and to claim that henceforth philosophy as a whole has been transformed into science.
