Abstract
This paper is about Philosophical Counseling is in the contemporary philosophical tradition, and in particular, later Wittgenstein. Our main problem is how key concepts of late Wittgenstein's thought can help to develop and enhance philosophical counseling, and what is their added value for philosophical counseling. We have taken an analytical approach to language game, form of life, family resemblance, Weltbild, and rule, and have presented a Wittgensteinian interpretation of philosophical consultation; A therapeutic "activity" that neither engages in theorizing and a priori classification of the client's symptoms nor suffers from epistemic anarchy. In this view, describing the client's Weltbild in the light of language games plays a central role in his improvement, and the counselor's role is Socratic help to increase the accuracy and clarity of this description, reveal more details, and reduce the ambiguity and dark points in the client's narration of his problems. This leads to the client's release from the prison of mental confusion and pre-made images. Family resemblance is also one of the most important issues distinguishing philosophical counseling from psychotherapy. Instead of focusing on some theoretical and prefabricated classifications in counseling, this theory emphasizes the careful study of language game and its role in discovering the client's fallacies and intellectual errors. Although this version of philosophical counseling requires philosophical leisure and is far from a professional activity, it has a higher success rate in resolving the client's mental health problems; problems that are either philosophical in nature or can be resolved with a philosophical approach.
